Barbórka 2014 w Dyckerhoff Polska Sp. z o.o.
Annually, Dyckerhoff Poland celebrates the Miners’ Day – the Day of Saint Barbara - the patron of all miners. This year the main celebrations took place on 5 December at the headquarters of our company in Nowiny, in close vicinity of which there is the quarry plant Kowala.
The sublime atmosphere was felt right from the morning when the facade of the building was decorated with the flags of the traditional black and green colours and to the office there came our miners in their uniforms. However, really loud and merrily it was when our office was filled in with a large number of local nursery children and young people from local schools to wish all the best and present their occasional artistic program. The meetings of the delegation of our company with the children are always accompanied by joyful, beautiful atmosphere, and the performances of our youngest kiddies tend to be touching. On this occasion once again we would like to thank the educators and teachers as we appreciate the work and time spent on the preparation of the occasional performances. As a token of gratitude for their acting and declamatory efforts all the children received gift packages from Dyckerhoff Poland.
This year's Beer Tavern was exceptional, as 13 employees were honored with mining degrees. In total, in the plant, there are 20 employees with mining degrees. Dariusz Niebudek plus two counterpoints led all the participants through the steps of play and dance.
The tradition of Beer Taverns dates back to the seventeenth and nineteenth century in Europe, in Poland it made famous by the Krakow AGH since the beginning of the twentieth century and it has been cultivated by the graduates of this university - employees of major mining companies in Poland until today.
