Open-air Wedding in a Quarry
An extraordinary event took place at the Zgórsko Quarry, owned by Cementownia Dyckerhoff Polska. The quarry became the backdrop for the wedding of Marianna and Piotr. Through an agreement between the municipality authorities and the cement plant management, this location was designated as an alternative venue for traditional civil wedding ceremonies.
The young couple, Marianna from the Nowiny municipality and Piotr from Toruń, currently residing in Warsaw, chose to celebrate their union in a place that held special sentimental value to them. When visiting family, they often took strolls in the old quarry. Additionally, a beloved family member, Kobi, an adorable dog, participated effortlessly in the outdoor ceremony.
The marital vows were exchanged in the presence of the mayor of the Nowiny municipality, Sebastian Nowaczkiewicz. Thanks to the cooperation of the management, the Zgórsko Quarry was officially recognized as a venue for outdoor civil ceremonies by the Civil Registry Office.
