Dyckerhoff Polska Showcases Model Solutions for Regional Development

Visit by the Provincial Coordination Team Highlights Company Innovation

Recently, Dyckerhoff Polska sp. z o.o. welcomed members of the Provincial Coordination Team at their plant in Nowiny. The visit was part of a larger initiative organized by the Voivodeship Labour Office under the project "Building a System of Coordination and Monitoring of Regional Activities for Vocational Education, Higher Education, and Lifelong Learning, including Adult Learning." This project is financed by the Ministry of Education and Science within the framework of the National Reconstruction Plan – Integrated Skills Strategy 2030.

Strengthening Local Cooperation and Education

The Provincial Coordination Team, comprising representatives from local governments, academia, businesses, and labor offices, plays a crucial role in creating sustainable partnerships between vocational education and higher education. These collaborations are essential for regional development, especially in industries deemed vital by the Regional Innovation Strategy for the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship 2030.

Dyckerhoff Polska was selected as a model example of innovation within the region. As Adam Dec, HR and Legal Director at Dyckerhoff Polska, stated, "We feel honored that you have chosen our plant as one of the models in the region for the project."

Insights into Cement Production and Sustainability

During the visit, guests were provided with an in-depth look at Dyckerhoff Polska’s operations. Dariusz Sokołowski, Production Manager, shared insights into the complex process of cement production. Meanwhile, Zuzanna Graur, Sustainability and Decarbonisation Manager, discussed the company’s journey toward sustainability, emphasizing major investments made to reduce the environmental impact of the plant and meet EU regulations on CO2 emissions.

The plant has undergone significant changes to minimize the environmental footprint of industrial production in the surrounding municipality. These efforts are in line with the company’s long-term goals for decarbonization and compliance with European sustainability standards.

Focus on Employee Development and Safety

The visit also highlighted Dyckerhoff Polska's dedication to employee growth and safety. Agnieszka Krupa from the Training Department discussed the company’s comprehensive employee training and development system, while Health and Safety Manager Jacek Starula guided the delegation through the company's rigorous safety protocols before their tour of the cement works.

A Unique Opportunity for Regional Leaders

During their visit, the delegation witnessed key aspects of the cement production process, including the dramatic "shooting" phase of stone crushing in the mine. They also explored the cement laboratory and the plant’s central control room.

“The plant is very modern and innovative. We are thankful that we could see it from the inside, as it was an unusual opportunity for us,” said Aleksandra Marcinkowska, Director of the Voivodeship Employment Office in Kielce, who led the delegation.

The visit to Dyckerhoff Polska served as a valuable learning experience and a demonstration of how local industry can contribute to the broader goals of regional innovation and sustainable development.
