What is CONSISTENCY and which consistency is the best?
Consistency is the degree of workability of a concrete mix, which is characterised by consistency classes. It is measured using the cone slump method. The consistency of the concrete mixture should be chosen according to the method of placing and compacting it according to the following principle: the denser the mixture, the more energy is required to compact it, and vice versa. Usually a higher consistency class facilitates the compaction of the mix and ensures a tight filling of the moulds.
